Daniel "Yeda" Vaccari

Daniel "Yeda" Vaccari is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Licensed Acupuncturist at Transcending Health in Charlottesville. He trained in massage at the Northwest Academy for the Healing Arts and earned his Master's degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine.

Yeda's work blends acupuncture, fascial counterstrain, trauma-informed care and NLP. His aim is to create a calm, safe space where your body can unwind, rebalance and settle back toward its natural state of health, physically, emotionally and in the nervous system.

Fascial counterstrain with Yeda

Yeda discovered fascial counterstrain in his final year of acupuncture school, and it changed how he understands the body's ability to heal and realign. It is a gentle, hands-on technique. Instead of pressing hard, Yeda places your body in positions of comfort so guarded, tight tissue can let go on its own.

Many clients find it a good fit for pain that flares when pressed on, or if they simply don't like deep pressure. Sessions are 75 minutes and $180. You can learn how fascial counterstrain works before you book.

Massage and acupuncture

Because Yeda is licensed in both fields, you can book either service with him or combine them in one care plan. For massage therapy in Charlottesville, therapeutic massage with evaluation is $130, deep tissue is $150, and 90-minute sessions add half the hourly rate. Acupuncture is $150 for an initial visit with evaluation and $130 for return visits. Many people later add corrective exercise, SoftWave or other restorative therapies through a membership or 6-Week Restoration Plan.

Areas of focus

  • Fascial counterstrain for pain that flares when pressed on, or for people who prefer gentle pressure
  • Acupuncture, on its own or combined with massage in one care plan
  • Therapeutic and deep tissue massage
  • Trauma-informed care and NLP woven into each session
  • Helping the body unwind and settle, physically, emotionally and in the nervous system

What to expect

Each visit starts with a short conversation about what brought you in and how you like to be treated. With fascial counterstrain, Yeda moves you into comfortable positions and lets guarded tissue release on its own, so there is no need to push through pain. Tell him if any position feels uncomfortable and he will adjust it, so you stay in control of the pace and pressure. If you are booking acupuncture for the first time, our guide to choosing acupuncture in Charlottesville covers good questions to ask.

Who books with Yeda

Clients who see Yeda often have pain that flares when pressed on, dislike deep pressure, want acupuncture and massage from one practitioner, or are looking for trauma-informed care in a calm setting. Because he works gently and lets tissue release on its own, his sessions can suit people who have found firmer bodywork hard to tolerate. Many clients combine acupuncture and fascial counterstrain in one care plan.

Preparing for your visit

Wear comfortable clothing, arrive a few minutes early, and create your free client account on our registration page before your first visit. Bring a list of your medications and any imaging reports or notes from your doctor. Fascial counterstrain sessions are 75 minutes, so allow time for a short conversation before and a few quiet minutes after. Share any sensitivities you would like him to know about, and he will pace the session around your comfort. We do not bill insurance, but HSA cards and CareCredit are welcome.
