Meet our team of passionate healers and learn about the expertise that makes Transcending Health unique.

From a young age, Keanen understood that healing begins with presence. As a child, he would ease the aches and pains of his mother and grandmother with his hands guided not by training, but by instinct. This early connection sparked a lifelong path toward healing, rooted in compassion, curiosity, and care.
Today, Keanen brings that same intuitive wisdom into each session, combining years of experience with a deep respect for the body’s innate ability to restore itself. Drawing from modalities such as Deep Tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, Sports Massage, Reflexology, Lymphatic Drainage, and Hydrotherapy, his work reaches far beyond the physical. With a background in yoga and mindfulness meditation, he weaves stillness, breath, and intention into every session—creating space for deep transformation.
Trained at the Center for Massage and Natural Health in Asheville, Keanen integrates anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and energy awareness to support the muscular, nervous, fascial, and energetic systems. Every massage is a dialogue—one that listens, adapts, and responds to the unique rhythm of your body.
Keanen believes that healing is a journey not a destination. Through constant learning, honest reflection, and heart-centered practice, he empowers others to reconnect with their own capacity for healing. Whether you seek grounding stillness or strong therapeutic pressure, Keanen meets you where you are with hands that listen and a spirit that uplifts.
At Transcending Health, Keanen leads our restorative massage sessions. Restorative work is calm and unhurried. It is a good fit if you feel stressed, run down or wired, or if you simply want your body and nervous system to slow down. Pressure is always set by your feedback, from light and soothing to firm and focused.
Restorative massage is $130 for 60 minutes. Therapeutic massage with an evaluation, the recommended first visit for new clients, is $130 for 60 minutes. Any 60-minute session can be extended to 90 minutes for half the hourly rate.
Many clients see Keanen as part of a month-to-month membership, which saves 5 to 15 percent and adds free add-ons, or a 6-Week Restoration Plan that combines massage with other services at 10 percent off. CareCredit is accepted.
Clients often book with Keanen when they feel stressed, run down or wired, when they want slow and unhurried bodywork, or when they want a session that moves between grounding stillness and strong therapeutic pressure. His background in yoga and mindfulness meditation brings breath and intention into each session, and he also draws on deep tissue, trigger point, sports massage, reflexology and lymphatic drainage techniques when they fit your goals.
Each session starts with a short conversation about how you are feeling and what you would like to focus on. Pressure is set by your feedback, from light and soothing to firm and focused, and you can ask for a quiet session if you prefer minimal talking. Arrive a few minutes early so you have time to settle in, and take a few slow minutes afterward before heading back into your day. If you prefer firm work, you can ask for it at any point.
Keanen's sessions feel like a conversation with your body. He brings years of hands-on experience, training from the Center for Massage and Natural Health and a yoga and meditation background into every visit, so you get both skilled technique and real presence. Whether you need grounding stillness after a hard week or strong therapeutic pressure for pain relief, he adapts in the moment. Clients who want restorative massage in Charlottesville that leaves them calm, clear and genuinely recovered keep coming back to Keanen.
